Children’s Village Mentoring Programs
For almost two decades, Mark Hirschhorn has served as an executive at leading companies in the fields of health and data. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mark Hirschhorn is involved in several charitable organizations, including Children’s Village.
Children’s Village has many outreach programs that pair at-risk youth with mentors who can provide guidance and help them contextualize their experience. The Arches program helps young men and women on probation move away from the attitudes and circumstances that led to their problems with the justice system.
Next S.T.E.P.S. (Striving Toward Engagement & Peaceful Solutions) is an 11-month program that uses group work and an interactive journaling curriculum. Mentors meet with members of the program to help them focus on individual change, responsible behavior, and the handling of difficult feelings to reduce violent behavior.
F.E.E.L. (Fostering, Empowerment, Excellence, and Love) is a program for young adults transitioning out of the foster care system. F.E.E.L. comprises interactive group work and journaling to encourage independence and self-sufficiency.
