Mark Hirschhorn brings over three decades of experience in leading companies in the emerging technology, digital media, and telemedicine spheres to his work as the president and COO of Talkspace, a behavioral healthcare services online portal. Also a noted New York-based philanthropist, Mark Hirschhorn supports nonprofit organizations, including The Children’s Village, which is dedicated to the health and well-being of youth.

The Children’s Village maintains program centers and offices across the New York metropolitan area to meet the needs of approximately 10,000 families in need on an annual basis. The organization is dedicated to opening up new educational and skill-building opportunities for young people with a focus on helping them to gain the knowledge and mindset they need to power their own success and lift up their communities.

Through a varied roster of year-round events — held virtually under pandemic conditions — The Children’s Village aims to raise public awareness about its mission. The Children’s Village receives support to further its goals of teaching critical job skills and providing initial work experiences for participating youth.

Its annual October masquerade fundraising gala is a long-established occasion that celebrates seasonal fun and the creative human spirit, amid a carnival of live music and performances. The Sally Paddle Tennis Tournament, a fixture at Fox Meadow Tennis Club in Scarsdale, New York, for more than 35 years, joins the masquerade gala in raising funds to support The Sanctuary, a Children’s Village program that assists youth experiencing homelessness.

Luncheons, an annual celebratory dinner, and leadership development events round out the nonprofit’s donor calendar, along with an annual golf tournament. In 2020, the Children’s Village leadership team held the tournament, as usual, but under socially distanced conditions that allowed each player or team to safely play on their own courses and submit their scores. Immediately after the tournament, The Children’s Village noted that it had raised more than $15,000 to continue programs benefitting young people and their families.
